A new coworking space is coming to Burlington, offering employees a chance to get out of the house if their offices are still closed and giving entrepreneurs a place to build their dreams. District No. 3, the latest coworking space in Alamance County, is slated to open this fall. “District No. 3 will be a space intentionally designed to help its members connect, collaborate and create. Members will enjoy perks such as private offices, high-speed internet, conference space, a mindfulness room, phone booth, onsite parking and special events such as networking, member socials, speaker series and more,” a press release announcing the project said. District No. 3 will take over the former North Star Marketing office located at 727 Kivett St. The location is less than 5 miles from Elon University and less than a mile from the downtown Burlington business district. Several membership options are available and Calixte said the coworking space is already pre-leasing. “I think that there’s enough people that value collaboration, being able to connect with other people and creative space so the coworking space … is going to be that. the happy medium to people who don’t really want to work at home full time and don’t want to go to office full time, so we’re offering flexibility but we’re also offering that culture,” Calixte said. “I’m an entrepreneur. I believe in entrepreneurship and investing in our community and I think that Burlington deserves a space like that, where we can kind of encourage entrepreneurship. There’s excitement about people investing in the community,” he said.
