In addition to Radius CoWork, there’s also Foundry CoWork in Meadville, and Thrive Therapy Space and Bastion Studios in Erie.
Radius CoWork was the region’s first coworking space when it opened May 1, 2015.But not the last.
Heather Fish operates Foundry CoWork on the second floor of the former Meadville Junior High School, now known as Parkside Commons, at 847 N. Main St. in Meadville.
Foundry CoWork’s website describes it as “a home for innovators, individuals, and organizations who embrace creativity, thrive in community, and want to see change.
“Like Radius CoWork’s building, Foundry’s home is owned by Erie developer Tom Kennedy.Another Radius member, Penny Mechley-Porter, a licensed professional counselor, opened Thrive Therapy Space in a suite at an office building at 3910 Caughey Road.Thrive Therapy offers coworking space to counseling professionals. Unlike the open floor plan of Radius CoWork, Thrive Therapy offers a more private setting for mental health professionals and their clients.”We had a couple of therapists who had come to us over the years and thought about joining our space,“ Sean Fedorko, co-founder of Radius CoWork.
Kern, 32, who works at Curtze Food Services, had never heard of Radius CoWork or of coworking in general even though his plans for Bastion Studios employed the same concept.
Kern credits Radius CoWork for helping him along the way.
