After five years of running her own wedding hair and makeup business, Winter Artistry, Jody Winter realized she needed an office.
Most others were successful solo businesses, like Winter Artistry, that couldn’t afford their own office space.
So Winter founded Cornerstone Studios, the first coworking space that caters to the wedding industry in the Twin Cities.
The 8,000-square-foot space offers various conference rooms, a photo studio with flexible wooden walls, a hair and makeup room, private offices, and a kitchenette.
While Winter thought different companies would keep to themselves, she’s been pleasantly surprised to see bonds forming.
“Working in a coworking space is a true way to live the community over competition ideal,” Winter said.
“It’s easier to grow together than to try and grow by yourself.” In the past year, two small weddings have also been held in the space, and five more are in the books.
