Atlanta, Georgia, is already home to more than 1.2 million square feet of coworking space, and new research from JLL suggests that quota is set to grow even more.
Atlanta’s central business district is home to large coworking brands including WeWork, IWG, Industrious, Spaces and Roam.
According to JLL’s Brooke Gothard, there is competition between coworking operators and conventional landlords who remain in a “Prime position” to attract good tenants who might otherwise be tempted by flexible space.
“Coworking has grown more over the past few years than anyone envisioned,” says Gothard.

In recognition of this competition, some landlords are now operating more flexible, move-in-ready spaces, which is expected to challenge the coworking market.
